1960

The Beginning

Hotel Trinidad was built in 1960 along with six buildings located behind the Hotel which housed 21 two bed-room condos and a night-club named Purple Room. The hotel and condos were utilized during the next twenty years for rentals and the Purple Room became a hide-a-way for politicians, movie stars and heads of state of many countries world wide. It established such a history that it has been placed on the Historic Inns of Palm Springs by the City.

1980

Club Trinidad Was Born

In 1980 the Hotel and condos along with the nightclub were purchased by a developer who changed the Hotel into Club Trinidad Resort and had it dedicated as a Timeshare establishment.

1984

Owners Unite

Timeshares were sold, and in 1984 the Club Trinidad Owners Association was founded as a Mutual Benefit, Non-Profit Corporation in the State of California.

1988

A New Leader Arrives

I, Arthur G. Brigman, purchased a Timeshare in 1986 and was placed on the Board of Directors in 1988.

1989-1995

Shaking The Foundation

Taking exception to the developer and his associates who maintained 4 of the 5 seats on the Board, and who I felt had not met his obligation to the Association through his Subsidy Agreement and his failure to pay the developers share of the expenses, I filed a class-action lawsuit on behalf of the Association in 1989. The lawsuit lingered for the next six years in the Superior Court and went to trial in 1995.

Management Change

In 1992, after a Court ordered an election of Board of Directors, 4 owners of Timeshares and I were elected to the New Board. At this time I became the President and CEO of the Club Trinidad Owners Association. I personally have held other Officer positions but always coupled with the position of Chief Executive Officer. The owners of the Association have chosen to have me remain in that position through the current date.

The Present

There are a total of 58 Timeshare units at Club Trinidad Resort and 1 managers unit. These 58 units comprise 2958 Timeshare Intervals available for sale. There are currently 1050 active Timeshare owners currently paying their yearly maintenance fees to the Association. The Association is offering intervals for sale but only in-house to the exchange guests who arrive from RCI or other exchange companies.

The Association has, as of May 2018, been approved for a construction loan to install a Solar Energy Plant on the roof of the buildings to generate it’s own electric power, the first in Southern California for a Resort. Shell Corporation is furnishing the Solar Panels and plans to make this a media event which should provide an increase in marketing. The entire resort will be refurbished over the next 5 months at a cost of 1.6 million dollars.
